About Structür

Some things start with a plan. Structür started with a farting apple.

In 2006 — back when Second Life was young, sculpted prims were considered advanced technology, and freebie hair was a legitimate aesthetic choice — Dickie Tower rezzed his first build. It was called Le Pomme du Flatulence. It was a sculpted apple that made rude noises at random intervals. It had no other functionality. It was, by any objective measure, completely unnecessary.

It was also the beginning of something.

Twenty years of Second Life have a way of teaching you things. How spaces work. How scripts behave. How poorly designed objects can ruin a shared environment for everyone in it. How the difference between a good build and a great build is almost always intention — the decision to do something properly rather than just getting it done.

Structür exists because of that difference.

What We Build

Structür is a Second Life creator studio operating across three distinct product lines:

Structür handles the serious work. Modular spaces, stage systems, architectural components and performance infrastructure for creators, venue owners, hosts and anyone who takes the business of building spaces seriously.

Sensorïum handles the atmospheric work. Environmental tools for builders who understand that a space isn’t finished until it feels inhabited. Sound Colliders that trigger atmospheric audio when avatars walk through them. Ambient Players that fill environments with layered randomized sound. Portrait collections featuring some of history’s most distinguished and ophthalmologically afflicted fictional Victorians. If you’re building something that needs to breathe, Sensorïum has something for you.

Pränx handles the other thing. Tasteful juvenile humor for discerning adults. A farting Santa that fires autonomously at completely random intervals. A whoopee cushion chair script. A line of culturally diverse flatulence delivery mechanisms collectively known as Les Objets d’Fart Internationale. All built with the same care and craftsmanship as the serious work. Because if you’re going to do something ridiculous you should do it properly.

The AGP Standard

Twenty years of encountering poorly behaved scripted objects in shared spaces will eventually make you think seriously about how things should work. The Structür Adaptive Governance Protocol (AGP) Standard grew out of that experience — a publicly available scripting standard that defines what responsible object behavior looks like in clear, practical language, alongside a certification program that recognizes creators who meet it.

AGP is built around a simple idea: systems operating in shared environments should behave thoughtfully within the environments around them.

That means:

  • sensible automation boundaries
  • parcel awareness
  • respectful ambient behavior
  • predictable operation
  • operational restraint
  • objects that clean up after themselves

Because responsible design is good design; shared spaces work better when the things inside them are built with genuine care for the people who use them.

On Tools and Philosophy

All Structür products are built to the AGP Standard as a matter of course. Scripts are event-driven rather than busy-looping. Listeners are cleaned up when they’re done. Permissions are set consistently and intentionally. Objects clean up after themselves.

These aren’t special features. They’re just how things should work.

Structür also manages the full Casper suite — CasperVend, CasperLet, CasperSafe — for clients who need someone who actually understands estate and rental management rather than someone who learned it from a YouTube tutorial last week.

The Person Behind It

Dickie Tower has been a Second Life resident since 2006. In that time he has been a builder, a scripter, an estate agent, a venue operator, and the creator of La Pomme des Pets. He is the founder of Structür.

He responds to IMs. He takes custom work seriously. He has strong opinions about permissions stacks, LSL best practices, and the proper application of diacritical marks to brand names.
